Our February excursion will take us to the Jiří Mahen City Library located in the baroque Schrattenbach Palace at Kobližná 4, where we will enjoy a guided tour and an introduction to the foreign language section and other programmes the library can offer to internationals. (Ironically, not an English website quite yet…)
After that we’ll also visit the historic Klein Palace in Náměstí Svobody, which is otherwise closed to the public and is used by the library’s IT department.
The library has 35 branches located throughout the city which often offer not only book lending services but also other opportunities.
The event primarily targets spouses and family members of highly qualified expat employees working in Brno. However, anybody with an interest in networking and learning about Brno and city services is welcome to join free of charge.
