BEComing strong in 2014
Excited to enter 2015 with an increasing numbers of expats in Brno, we invite you to reminisce about how the BEC grew last year.
After four years of service, the Brno Expat Centre has over 1,300 registered members. They come from 85 countries and have used our services with 1,900 inquiries. Most represented are foreigners from the USA, UK, Romania, Italy, India, France, Russia or Hungary. Close to 25,000 unique visitors viewed our website last year, many of them also from Brasil, Germany, Austria or the Netherlands.
Every month, 2,000 subscribers receive our monthly newsletter and over 2,000 fans follow our Facebook page. BEC has already organized 76 events such as seminars, workshops, informal meetings, trips, sport tournaments, dancing ball etc. From our September opening of the fifth season of service, we created a short video.
Significant number of expats who contact us work for major international employers in Brno such as IBM, Infosys, Red Hat, Honeywell, AT&T, Lufthansa inTouch, and Dixons; many clients also come from international research centres such as CEITEC, RECETOX, ICRC or Czech Globe.
Throughout 2014, the BEC was mentioned by Czech newspapers, television and radios. We have also appeared in a Financial Times article.
At the end of the last year, we had two city light vitrines placed in the Brno Airport that invite newcomers to BECome local with us. We look forward to making Brno a cosmpolitan hub of Central Europe with you in 2015!
